Our Specific Objectives
- To be a liaison and bridge between government and private sector stakeholders in the Fisheries sub-sector and other sectors that impact directly or have influence on sub-sectors such as Health, Treasury, NFNC, and relevant identified stakeholders; ·
- Facilitate and promote the review of the Fisheries and Aquaculture sub-sector policy and legal reforms; by contributing to improved governance of the Fisheries sub-sector;
- Promote advocacy on increased consumption of fish and fish-based diets; ·
- Create a neutral space for both Fisheries and Aquaculture sub-sector related issues to be deliberated in an open atmosphere under the Forum and promote relationships based on trust, mutual respect and communication;
- Lobbying and advocating for increased funding support for Capture Fisheries and Aquaculture programmes in Zambia.
Our Main Objective
The forum’s main objective is to support policy reforms, strategy, and legislation under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, which works through the Department of Fisheries.
